Honda Dominates 2026 Car and Driver 10Best Awards

For over four decades, Car and Driver has compiled its 10Best vehicles list annually as a measuring stick for what is considered the finest cars, trucks, and SUVs on the road. They form these prestigious lists through their collective expertise.
Since 1983, one manufacturer has appeared on these lists more than any other. That would be Honda. Since the award’s inception, Honda has won 99 Car and Driver 10Best trophies for 11 models. Forty of them were for the Accord, which has just earned its 28th in a row for the 2026 Car and Driver 10Best Cars list. This year’s award was also given to the Civic. The CR-V and Passport earned 2026 Car and Driver 10Best Trucks and SUVS awards. This is the first time our new rugged mid-size SUV has won. The Civic won for the 12th time, while the CR-V earned its seventh 10Best award.
To earn a Car and Driver 10Best award, a vehicle must have won the year before, be brand new, or be heavily revised. To be eligible, it must be on sale no later than January 31, 2026, and entrants have a price cap of $115,000. The staff at Car and Driver drives about 100 eligible vehicles for two weeks, and each vehicle is given a score on a 100-point scale. Once the votes are tallied, the lists for both the 10Best Cars and 10Best Trucks and SUVs are formed.

The Accord has won the most Car and Driver 10Best awards of any Honda since 1983. When it was first awarded, it was cited as a great sedan for its time. It was right when Honda was starting to assemble them in Ohio. Since then, the Accord has become the benchmark for all mid-size sedans. It continues today with a mix of affordable turbocharged models, along with a great lineup of hybrid models for 2026. They are a model of efficiency across the board, returning up to 51 MPG* in the city, according to EPA ratings for the Hybrid.
When you look at the 2026 Civic, you are looking at the widest lineup in its history. This includes hybrids, the sporty Si, and the performance compact Type R. With fuel economy ratings up to 46 MPG* in the city, the Civic Hybrid delivers more than just efficiency. Every Civic offers a great driving experience for the money.
The 2026 CR-V adds a TrailSport Hybrid to the lineup. With all-terrain tires and Real-Time AWD, you now have a CR-V ready to go anywhere. Yet, every 2026 CR-V comes with exceptional interior space, a huge expandable cargo hold, a choice of turbocharged and hybrid drivelines, and trim levels.

With its first Car and Driver 10Best award, the 2026 Passport has been making quite an impression. The TrailSport and TrailSport Elite models are made for adventure, whether it is a run into the Sierras or across the desert plains. Passport owners enjoy a spacious cabin and lots of cargo space, along with a 285-horsepower V6 and the agile i-TVM4 all-wheel-drive system.
