Cars.com Names Three 2026 Honda Models to Their Affordability Report

Honda has long been known for making affordable, efficient, and fun to drive vehicles, and that continues to be the case, as three Hondas were recently named by Cars.com to its 2026 Best Value New Cars List.
The winners are the 2026 CR-V LX in the Compact SV category, the 2026 Ridgeline Sport in the Mid-Size Pickup Truck category, and the 2026 Passport RTL in the Mid-Size SUV category.
This annual list spotlights affordable non-luxury, mass-market automobiles named by Cars.com editors. The vehicles on this list must be equipped with an automatic transmission, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, brake assist, and lane departure warning. Both starting and median manufacturer’s suggested retail prices, along with EPA fuel economy ratings, and fuel cost estimates are also factored onto their list.

Here is a reason why Cars.com named these three Honda models to this year’s list. In 2025, the average transaction cost for a Honda was $35,060 – or roughly $10,000 less than the industry average. All three models awarded happen to also start at an MSRP below the current new vehicle average transaction price in this country, based on reporting by J. D. Power.
Despite that, these Hondas still deliver incredible value. For example, the 2026 CR-V LX offers an extensive standard equipment list that defies its base MSRP. The 190-horsepower 1.5-liter turbocharged engine is great for both commuting and long journeys. You also have plenty of amenities, such as a wireless phone charger and a nine-inch color touchscreen, among others.
When the discission about rugged SUVs comes up, the conversation revolves around the 2026 Passport RTL. It has all of the standard equipment you need for adventure, including the i-TVM4 all-wheel drive system. A 285-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 gives the Passport RTL the power you need to go off the highway, as well as a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.

When it comes to pickup trucks, there is nothing like the 2026 Ridgeline Sport. It is equipped with a 280-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 and the i-TVM4 all-wheel drive system as standard. The result is a maximum 5,000-pound towing capacity and a payload of 1,583 pounds. Plus, it gets a class-exclusive dual-action tailgate and an in-bed trunk.
At Honda, it is our commitment to maintain the affordability of our vehicles. That includes the ease of maintenance and getting the most fuel efficiency out of each one. This is why Honda continues its leadership in producing fuel efficient vehicles with the highest fleet average in the automotive industry. This is achieved through offering gasoline-powered and electrified drivelines and is recognized by the EPA in their 2025 Automotive Trends Report.
