Honda Fit Compared to Toyota Yaris & Hyundai Accent

Michael Hohl Honda strives to help our Carson City drivers find a new Honda model that doesn't just meet their needs, but is also the perfect fit. That's a bit more literal for our shoppers who drive the Honda Fit, a subcompact hatchback that has been impressing drivers across the country for many years. In a market filled with potent competitors, however, how does the Fit stack up to the likes of the Toyota Yaris and Hyundai Accent? We'll show you.

Fit vs. Hyundai Accent

Many choose the Hyundai Accent as an affordable subcompact with ample gas mileage, space, and features. But if you're also looking for space, interior volume, and flexibility, there's no beating the Fit in these areas. Here's how the two models stack up.

  • Greater cargo and passenger volume available on the Fit (52.7 cu-ft, 95.7 cu-ft).
  • Superior safety rating for NHTSA rear side, front passenger, and overall test (5 stars for the Fit, 4 for Accent).
  • Higher fuel economy than the Accent (38 hwy/27 city). Fit offers 41 hwy/33 city.

Fit vs. Toyota Yaris

While both the Fit and Yaris both compete to be efficient, compact yet spacious, and fun to drive, the recently redesign Honda has a few tricks up its sleeve that push it out in front. Here are a few of the ways the Fit wins out.

  • Better gas mileage (41 hwy/33 city) and power (130 horsepower) than the Yaris.
  • Higher overall safety rating than Yaris (NHTSA gave the Fit five stars to the Yaris' four).
  • Better interior versatility, including split-folding rear bench--a feature not available in the Yaris.
