With school fast approaching, it's time to get your car the maintenance it needs for the upcoming year. Look at your owner's manual to see if any scheduled maintenance is coming up. Bring your car in for an oil change and to fill up any fluids that are low.

Get your tires inspected. If you need new tires, it is better to get them now instead of waiting until you are far from home and back at school. If your tires are in good shape, get them rotated to keep them from uneven wear. Once you take care of maintenance, give your car a good cleaning.

Pack your car with any supplies you might need and get yourself organized. Check your spare tire and jack, and learn how to use them if needed. Invest in a good flashlight, and have enough batteries on hand. Pack your emergency kit so that it is easily accessible.
