How to Visually Inspect Your Tires

At Michael Hohl Honda, we want to help you keep your tires in good condition. Tires need to be inspected at least once a month. A tire failure can be disastrous if the tire malfunctions on a busy road. Fortunately, a monthly visual inspection will help you spot common problems.

Your tires should always be properly inflated and rotated on a regular basis. Inclement weather can degrade the tire tread. You can check the tread with a coin. Put a penny between the tread blocks. You will need new tires if you can see the top of Lincoln's head.

All cars vibrate on bumpy roads. The tires may need to be replaced if the vibration is worse at high speeds. Bulges and blisters may appear when the tire is weak and worn. The tire can pop if it has too many weak spots. If the tire has noticeable cracks in the sidewall, a hole might be expanding.
