Understand the Move Over Law

Whether or not you drive a car from Michael Hohl Honda, we like helping our community's drivers act responsibly on the road. Today, we want to make sure you are aware of the Move Over Law.

All 50 states have a Move Over Law. Obviously, each state's law varies, but they all place responsibility on you to move one lane over anytime you can when approaching a traffic stop or emergency vehicles responding to an accident. Some states' laws also require you to provide a clear lane as you pass autos parked in the breakdown lane.

These important laws improve everyone's safety who might be involved in a roadside situation. Failing to provide space or decrease your speed can result in a costly ticket. We advise you to read the Move Over Law for any state where you drive. Doing so makes you the type of driver to which we all should aspire.
