Why is ASE certification so important?

For years, automotive mechanics were known via their reputation. Their fame was generated by word of mouth. In 1972, the word of mouth method was thrown out the window by the automotive industry when Automotive Service Expert (ASE) certifications began to appear.

The ASE certification process began as a response to complaints by customers of mechanics who set themselves up with a shop but had no real knowledge of advances made in the industry. The ASE certification requires that mechanics who apply for the certification have at least two years of experience in an automotive shop. The tests involved to get the ASE certification are extensive, grueling, and through. Only shops with an ASE certified mechanic are allowed to display the ASE emblem at the front of the shop..

At Michael Hohl Honda in Carson City, we have ASE certified mechanics on the floor to cover any automobile mechanical issue.
